Lightning is a visible electrical discharge produced by a thunderstorm from one cloud to another or from cloud to ground.
Lightning annually kills more people in the US than do tornadoes. While lightning is a discharge of a large amount of
electrical power, it is not the focus of this site. However, lightning is very interesting.
The Lightning on Demand page is really about electrical discharges such as Jacob’s Ladders, Tesla Coils, Lorentz Guns, etc,
